Ok... I have been following the plan that was made for me on here for two weeks now.. I have counted and charted every calorie that i've eaten or drinken. I have stuck with lean meats, whole grains, and dark green veggies.. I taken in all of the water i am supposed to and i have been following my lifting workouts plus 3 - 4 days of cardio for about 45 minutes each. Why am I not losing? I haven't even noticed a small difference. It's driving me crazy. I waited a whole week to weigh myself and i lost nothing.
My ? is. What do i do? I know that it seems totally impatient, but, before I joined at this site, I was doing basically the same thing.. less carories , messed me up a little but now that i am eating all my little meals, i feel like i am not doing so well.???
Any suggestions?

I just explained this to you in an email. You probably have leveled off finally after your prior binge, by resetting metabolism and reaching a good maintenance calorie limit where your body is again "happy". You were not supposed to lose any weight at this time, it was simply a time as mentioned to get your body actually ready to diet correctly.

Patience grasshopper....it is a tough thing to have. But correct dieting will end in much better results.

I tell you, this is why I hate getting too personal with anyone with diet advice...dammed if you do, dammed if you don't. :)

I went through the same frustration a few months back (and something similar a few days ago). First off, two weeks is nothing in the scheme of things. I started in April and thought it was reasonable to think I'd be in a bikini by August. Well...things didn't happen that quickly. I reset my goal to NEXT August. Although I was initially frustrated, I did realize that I was doing everything by the book and if I kept moving forward and doing what I was doing the changes would come. And they have, and they will continue as long as I continue doing what I'm doing. Two weeks out of the rest of your life is pretty insignificant.

Good post msmogreen.....dieting for fat loss is not a linear proposition the way it is made out to be. There is some banter around about you will lose 1 or 2 lbs. of fat per week with "x" amount of calorie deficit. Anyone who has done this will tell you nonsense. You may go many weeks completely stalled, then as I like to term it the "whoosh" happens, and you lose 3-4 lbs. This is usually preceeded by a "spongy" feeling in the affected area, you will feel squishy and soft there, and that is more than likely where the fat will come off at. Haven't really figured it out, and found no "science" to back it up, however, it does happen that way. You hear about initial 7 lb. loss or so the first week, and then the dieter is giddy. This is simply water weight, and will soon stall to the aformentioned scenario. This is where many dieters give up, if they just have pppaaattttiiiiennnnce!!

I know... i don't want to lose 20 lbs in a couple weeks.. i just assumed that i would have some sort of result.. but after you explained it to me bb.. i know that i wasn't supposed to .. i am shooting for 2 months at about 15 lbs... i think that's fairly reasonable.
ps... trying to work on the patience :)

Christinala83, I completely understand what you are going through! It is so frustrating when you feel you are working so hard and putting in your best effort to exercise and eat right, and not see any reward. I have gone through the same thing, it took me almost 3 months before I started to notice any weight change, (although I did notice I was becomming more toned around 4-6 weeks). Like the others have said, just be patient and stick with it. Don't quit now.

Look at it this way, if you spent 2 weeks eatting nothing but junk, you do not necessairly see the numbers on the scale go up. It takes time to gain weight, just as it does to loose weight.

Keep up what you are doing, with time you will see results!
Good luck!

Hey; there is just no easy way. Remember once you reach your desired goals that you will also have to maintain them for life. It is all very worth it and I think also very fun to see the changes. I have been working out consistantly since 1986 (yep-20 yrs)and love each new day for another opportunity to hit the gym and or the track.
