So im working out doing chest i think last friday or so and i dropped a 10lb weight on my big toe.. (thank god i always wear sneakers to the gym) why i see people in there in sandals is beyond me. anyways it wasn't a good day. the weight on my toe topped it all off. So i come to work the following day, and told people about it and some co-workers thought that it be a good idea to go have the nurse look at it.. so i did. when you go to the company nurse they have to take your temp and blood pressure regardless. So she did, and asked what was wrong blah blah, and i said i hurt my big toe blah blah. She then said that my temp was normal. and my blood pressure was "more than excellent" I was lovin life right there. You see alot ALOT of the changes within your body are changes that you can't see. Ive never had high blood pressure, but ive never heard anyone say that my blood pressure was "more than excellent" . I attribute this to the fact that i work out religiously on a schedule, and run about 4 miles a day 5x a week or so. Plus sedentary people accumulate organ fat (fat linked to diabetes, and heart disease, yet exercise takes this fat away quickly, but you don't notice it because it is around your organs. The point is many changes that happen through exercise/weight lifting are changes that are not measured on a scale or in a mirror, they are changes in blood pressure, cholesterol, immune system functions, risk of heart disease. So think about that when you are depressed about not seeing results, or upset with your progress, or not seeing significant gains. You shouldn't be doing this just for the gains, you should be doing this for overall health benefit.
