Ok I know it isn't good to not be getting rest but I have severe insomnia and sometimes I just wake up at about 2 or so in the morning and can't go back to bed sometimes I get a good full night's rest though, I know they say your body weight X 11 or 12 is your maintenance, but my nutritional plan also figures in a fast metabolism with moderate activity, and that puts me around 2700 calories for the day. I'm on a plan to gain mass progressively. How much extra calories should I take in to account for the loss of sleep?
I don't think that there should be a difference in the caloric intake just because you didn't get enough sleep. The body is still working while you sleep just as it is when you are awake.
