I would like to know if chitosan or any other fat blockers on the market work as well as the manufacturer claims? I would be interested in hearing anyone's experience with chitosan in particular (effectiveness, side effects etc...)

I've never used any "pill" in an effort to lose weight, so I have no experience.

I just want to point out that we NEED fat in order to lose weight and gain muscle the healthy way. In fact, increasing intake of healthy fats can boost fat loss. Any foreign substance we ingest that alters how our body naturally handles foods can not be a good thing.

Chitosan was proven by at least one study to be ineffective as a 'fat blocker'.
Ity could be used for fiber, though.

I am sorry, i just got the new issue of Muscle and Fitness Hers and it has an article that says fat blockers, especially chitosan, do work. The bad part being that they block the good fat you need also, but the article tells you how to use them and how to supplement with good fat, check out the article for more info...
