Can you give me advice as to what exercises to do with my home equipment. My main focus is upper body & arm strength. Thanks! I am 5'5, 112lbs female, my plan is focusing on building weight and strength.

I have: free weights (5lb, 8lb, 10lb, 15lb, 20lb), a medicine ball (8lb), pilates ball and a punching bag.

If you have any links to pictures of exercises that would be even cooler, as I am a bit lost with the terminology.

(I have a gym at work as well, but prefer to do cardio there).

I should also add: what would be the proper amount of pushups to be doing as well? I am doing a fitness exam next year and will be competing with probably 100-150 men! So this upper strength is a biggie for me.

Not sure if I'm computer illiterate or not but I have trouble with the fitness plan on here, its good for when I have my work gym but not much option for at-home exercises with my home equipment. Here's what I do so far:

Medicine ball lift (from a squat position to standing), 12 reps * 3 sets (8lb ball)

Pushups - 25 proper form

Situps with medicine ball in knees: 25 reps * 3 sets

Shoulder press 8lb free weight, 12 reps * 3 sets

Bent lateral raise 10lbs 12 reps * 3 sets

Wrist curls 5lb 12 reps * 3 sets

-> stretch

Hey marblez..

One of the tabs at the top should give you a list of movements you can... exercise descriptions... should be broken down into body part.

Some basic movements:

Bent Over Rows (one or two arms) - this works your back
Over Head Press (at the same time or alternating) - Shoulders
Bicep Curls - Biceps
Tricep Extensions - Triceps
Dumbell Chest Press

Don't neglect your legs:
Dumbell Squats
Straight Leg Deadlifts
Lunges

Hope that helps.. should be a good start...

Another great link that I love is www.bodybuilding.com. They have an amazing list of exercises, and you can search for exercises for specific body parts, and you can also find exercises that only need dumbbells. Thats what I do. I'm 18 years old and I am 5'5" and weigh 100 pounds, and I only have dumbbells as well, and I have a great workout program that I have been doing for about a week and a half now, and its been working so far. If you would like me to tell it to you, just let me know!
