Last september after exercising very hard for 3 weeks i woke up with tinnitus and fullness in my ear. I was exercise 2-3 hours a day 6 days a week. I have been to several drs who say I have hydrops but they can not explain why I am having such a problem exercising. All of the drs I have been to say exercise should help. Last week I tried working out about 1 1/2 hours. The ringing was terrible and fullness. I was also dizzy for several days after that. I just found out today that high impact exercising can cause inner ear damage. (hearing loss, tinnitus, fullness etc) When I do my step aerobics that seems to be the worst. That is my favorite thing to do. Is there anything I can do so that I can start exercising again? I have always felt all the exercising I was doing had something to do with this. What do you think? Thanks, Tracy

I would go see another doctor. I have never heard about exercise CAUSING this problem. It is usualy caused by excess fluid in the ears, either from a virual infection or a bacterial infection....one is called sinusitis, and the other is vertigo....i have both and not once has my doc said to stop exerciseing completely you have to treat it then contintue....go see a ear nose and throat specialist...
