Swimming s great exercise - so is jogging in the pool. add some resistance training and you will see results even faster.
If you plan the right caloric deficit through diet and exercise, you should lose 1-2 lbs a week- any faster (after the first few weeks, where you may see an initial drop that is larger) and you may be losing muscle.
You could, theoretically, lose 24 to48 lbs in 6 months.
Set some small attainable goals, like how many laps or the length of time you will swim each session, and pay more attention to how you feel and how your clothes fuit than the scale. many things occur in your body when you begin a regular exercise program and sometimes you may see the scale go up or not drop at all while your body makes adjustments.
-------------- "To be able to go to the gym and train hard is a joy and a privelege, even though the hard work necessitates driving yourself through considerable discomfort. Savor this privelege and blessing, and revel in it."
