Hello everyone. Its been a few months since I've been on here and quite a lot has changed. I was doing very well with fitness/nutrition in the first half of the year and I also quit smoking. I then had 2 friends die, one in a car accident and one in Iraq. I started smoking again and never went back to the gym because I used to talk to the girl who died in the car accident every time I went to the gym.
Since then I moved out from Wisconsin to Washington state and became an EMT. I'm in the process of quitting smoking thanks to the Washington Quit Line run by the department of health. I'm starting to walk with my girlfriend and dog quite often now and am trying to come up with a workout plan that I can stick with.
I am having one major problem though. I'm switching to an incredibly busy ambulance that runs 20 or more hours in the 24 hour shift and the only thing I can eat is fast food. Are there some easy meals that I can keep with me all day, no refridgeration, that are healthy and easy to make? I know thats asking a lot but I could use the help. Most EMTs out here just eat fast food if and when they can get it. Thanks for listening to my plea for help.
Congrats on the quitting smoking...I quit for the last time myself 4 weeks ago...and good job getting back into losing the weight. Can you pack a small cooler to bring along with you??And although fast food isn't ideal..you can pick and choose to put your self a meal together.Someone on here suggested at Wendy's for instance you could get a small chilli and pour it over a plain baked potatoe, and order a grilled chkn sandwich, plain, and toss the bread.Keep lots of water handy, pack lots of snacks, like celery...even turkey jerkey and rice cakes.Where there is a will there is a way..good luck!!
