Hi everyone! I am new to this website and I love it! I was wondering if somebody out there can give me some advice. I have had an eating disorder for ten years. I am trying to get better and decided to start working out. I do cardio 30-40 minutes everyday. But I don't eat too much. I want to be strong, fit, and muscular!! I know I need to eat better but am afraid to get fat. Do you have any suggestions how to get started? I'm just taking baby steps right now. I have just recently begun to eat more in order to fuel me for my workouts. I want to be healthy but I don't know where to start! I want to start weight training but don't have the energy to do it. And if I eat more than I do now I get sick to my stomach and super bloated...I can't even drink a lot of water because of that. So anyway, if someone can offer some advice I'd REALLY appreciate it!!
thanks!

Congratulations on starting the rest of your life1 Adding lean muscle as you workout should help combat your self-image/ body image distortion problems.
Eating small amounts of lean protein and vegetables, or ruits should feel good and fuel your workouts. As you increase your metabolism and your body learns to trust you again, and your stomach can handle more food, you can gradually increase your intake. Include garins as you can. also.
Good luck. There are a lot of female fitness professionals who turned to wiegth lifting and fitness to beattheir eating disorders - congratulate yourself and be sure to reward yourself (my favorite reward for a week where i did really well on my diet and exercise regime is a massage or even just ahot bubble bath to soak sore muscles).
Fitness is a journey and involves all aspects of your life. Good luck and hang in there!

Thanks so much for your reply! It was so encouraging :) It makes me so happy to hear that people do overcome this wretched disorder. I hope to be one of them! I want to be able to help other people struggling with eating disorders.
