Yes it will...any physical exertion will burn more calories then sitting on the couch. At the same time it reinforces your muscles, so you burn fat over muscle. Also muscle burns fat 24/7 so get you a workout plan from here and get to work.

I'm 275 Pounds.. pretty heavy :/ but ya i've started doing dieting and started off with strength training.. my calorie intake everyday is around 1600. My question is how many days of strength training and what kinds of excercises..
Sorry i'm just getting the hang of the site trying to find the profile thing lol.. ya kinda dumb..

sounds like your calorie intake is pretty low samarik. if it is too low, your body will store food preferentially as fat, to save for energy in the future. maybe do a fitbuddy search on caloric intake, check out the nutritional forum, and sign up for a fitness/nutritional program to get you on the right track.

Yeah. At 275, if you weight lift and do cardio, then you could lose weight at around 2500 calories. Start off cutting down slowly, and then, as you start to lose weight slower and slower, gradually decrease your calorie intake.
Aim to lose 1-2% of your bodyweight per week. for you, that would be about 2-4 pounds per week. I would shoot for 3 or less.
If you eat a pretty clean diet right now, I would increase my protein intake to make up for the caloric deficiency.
As for the strength training, a good weight loss split is total body workouts monday wednesday and friday. Only thing is, with total body routines, stick to the basics and limit the accessory work, to avoid overtraining. 3 days a week is fine to start out with. If you decide to workout more often, then split your workout into upper body and lower body workouts.
As for the exercises, stick with compound movements, they work more muscle, build more muscle, and in turn, burn more calories:
Squats, deadlifts, cleans, bench, pull ups (or lat pull downs) and rows.
-------------- Your two most important minerals: Iron and Chalk.
If you smoke or don’t wear your seatbelt, please don’t tell me the deadlift is dangerous.

check out the nutrition forum, specifically the healthy eating and recipe thumbtacks. it will be best for you to divise your own diet which will suit your preferences best.
