Hi guys,

I am determined to loose 70 pounds this year. I already started on Cardio Kickboxing - which I am doing 3 times a week. I am looking for help on a Diet Plan. Hopefully I will be able to meet people to receive and give motivation. OHHH one more thing--I got my bellybutton pierced as a motivation as well - hopefully I will be able to show it of soon!

Welcome to ft! I'm sure you'll find lots of motivation as well as help here. You're off to a good start as cardio kickboxing works all major body parts. The keys to losing weight are exercise, good nutrition and discipline.

Good luck!

Thank you. I am still confused about the 180 g Protein, 360 g carbs, 29g fats and 2398 total cal intake a day. I am going to have to walk around with a scale and calculator - most likely i will not be able to succeed doing that. over 2000 cal a day - i thought i was trying to loose and not gain. I am a little confused - but I think I will do the basic which is no food after 6pm and if necesary only fruits and veggies. Lots of leafy stuff and chicken, no more candy, rice or bread. And myabe some protein drinks...(geeze - didn't know eating was such a headache)

I wanted to thank every and each one of you all that responded. I really appreciate your help and input.

Hi! Here's what made my diet work:

1) Eliminate sweets altogether
2) Cut intake of white rice and white bread; stick to brown rice and wheat bread (no yeast)
3) Drink plenty of water
4) Stick to low-calorie dinners and desserts
5) If you drink alcohol, eliminate this too
6) Increase aerobic/cardio activity (3-4 times per week)

You'll be hungry the first 2-3 weeks. In time, however, your body will get used to the lowered food intake and your enery level will increase. Soon, your clothes will start to feel loose.

If you can do kick boxing, you can do everything!! (o:
Welcome here Beautiful one, nice to have another girl around us.
What I wanted to say is, that when you start eating 6-7 times per day, you'll feel like eating small portions are enough. You don't feel hungry afterwards. You need to eat something in the night time to avoid catabolism (burning muscle) Do as I do, take a protein shake.
Good luck to you and keep us posted!!

Welcome to the site Angie.. it's should be the only place you'll need to reach those goals!

About the calories question you had. Most of those calories should be consumed early in the day (morning and early afternoon). You will need these calories to fuel your workouts. I must tell you NOT to cut out food after 6! This is one of the most common mistakes. If you stop eating your body will take that into account and inturn store the fat and burn muscle instead. The key is to speed up your metabolism by having 4-6 'small' meals throughout the day and exercise appropriately. Be sure to add in cardio.

Kickboxing is a great start! By the way.. I just saw your profile picture.. is that you? Cause there is no way that girl should lose 70 pounds! Just making sure.. :)

Yeah...not sure if that was your picture or not. Anyway, if so, maybe 70 pounds is too much?!

yes that is me - believe it or not I am only 5'4 and weigh 180. I have a big butt, hips and thighs.

I think my brain weighs a little to - I used to weigh 110 - that's where the 70 pounds come in.

I am a size 12, because of the big booty and hips, i could fit in a 8 - if I didn't have that. (Eventhough it's inherited (my dad is black).

Thank you for the uplift - I am going to drink protein shakes and knibble on carrots and sellerie after 6pm - and of coarse drink lots of water.

thanks a bunch - you guys are so sweet!!!

Just an idea (and this is for you all!); take a full body picture of yourself now and then again 4 and 8 weeks after....... You'll be happy to see the differences.

By the way, isn't it not just genius to be beautiful AND smart?!! lol
