here's the story. i have to be come completely defined and toned by sept. 4. but how should i go about doing that. i know aerobics to burn the fat so muscle can be seen, and do lots of reps/sets of a low weight to define the muscle (or at least i think thats true). but will that give my results fast enough? anyone know the quickest, safest and realistic way for me to see results by sept 4.

and if know how my body looks will help you, here it is:
im 5feet 7inches. i weigh 142 pounds. that basically average weight for me. the only thing is that i used to be 250 pounds and never exercised. but when i did and lost weight, it seems that i have some fat left. im not sure if thats fat or just "stretched skin" but id really like to get rid of it to show some muscle.

So let me make sure I understand, you have no visible muscle tone or definition as of right now? Correct? I hate to tell you this, but depending on your overall body fat% I do not think that any amount of dieting or cardio or weight lifting will give you the result you want in that amount of time. What you wants takes time, the time it takes depends on your body how it bulids muscle and sheds fat. I know that was not what you wanted to hear, but you can make some good gains in that time by eating right and exerciseing right as well.

September 4th is less than 2 weeks away, if I knew how to make changes like that in that kind of time, I'd be a millionaire. What's happening on Sept 4th anyway??? Something I should know about? ;)

The best, safest and most realistic way to be toned, ripped and showing great definition in 2 weeks is as follows -

take a nice shower
get a cup of warm milk, play some soft music
After around 45min (will vary per person) head to your bed.
Once there read for around 20 mins, finish your milk if required.
Now go to sleep, this is different per person, some use no light, some like a light on - some have blindfolds, some earplugs. This is pureply your preference.

If you follow the above you should soon be a sleep, then you just wait for your dream to start and there you go! the perfect body.

Unfortunatly it doesn't last too long.

Alternatively, you could realise it's going to take a ton of hard work, motivation and unfortunatly, more time than 2 months let alone 2 weeks. Still, you can't acheve what you desire by sept 5th, but you will have it ready for your next sept 5th, whenever that may be.

I guess maybe one thing I'm wondering is have you been doing any resistance training? Do you have some muscle to work with already?

I lost 50 lbs two years ago. It took me really 9 months to go from a size 16 to a six 4. I went to the gym and busted my ass with cardio and then hit the weights so I wouldnt be flabby. I also cut back on my calories and drank so much water. I guess I was just ready for the change...but I can say that if you hit the gym for the next 14 days...you will have some tone but not what you really are asking for. Although, that is a start. The weights tone and give muscle...but some of the other members in here might be able to tell you more about that kind of process...I do know theres some kind of method to the way the body burns fat and tones. The days I couldnt be in the gym which was Sunday Id walk about 6 miles. Good luck...you can at least start today. :)

Sept 4th is really soon but i have a cuple of pionters for the long run (6 weeks maybe)

The part about "low weight, high reps" is only true if you already have huge muscles. To maximize your muscular size you need to keep lifting heavy! And increase your cardio. I recomend that you do cardio in the morning for up to an hr, then lift at night. Make sure you eat well all day before you lift, and don't forget your pre-workout protein and a large meal after your workout to give you energy for your morning cardio.

Many people think that to get your muscles to show, u have to lose a ton of wieght, but if you do id the wrong way, you wont have any muscles left to show off. But if you eat right while increasing your workout intencity, you'll keep your muscles full of blood as well as lose that extra fat.
