Boy this is one exercise that really takes it outta you. I haven't done them in months and I did them today and they just kicked my but. I know this is an excellent exercise and i think everyone should incorporate deadlifts in their routine every once in a while. I know i'm gonna feel this tomorrow any suggestions to keep the soreness down a bit?....Not gonna go to the gym tomorrow so is there anything i can do at home before i go to work?

Deadlifts are, IMO the single most important exercise someone can do - even if their focus is more on bodybuilding than on strength training or powerlifting.
The best way to expand on this statement is to refer you to a stickied thread in the strength training & powerlifting forum titled; 'Deadlifts - Why we do them". There is alot of great info in that thread.

For soreness on deadlifts (which I have now LOL), I take a hot bath or a very hot shower. Take some advil if you would like....light stretching is also good for the lower back.

do them off a platform, or with a wider than normal grip(snatch grip) very different feel, and a whole new world of pain and soreness.
