I know there's an endless argument about whether you can cut fat and bulk up on muscle simultaneously. But:
If I were to strictly eat protein, fats (from nuts and oils etc.) and fibrous foods (veggies and nuts), with no breads or potatoes or even fruits and of course no sugar foods, could I add muscle and cut some fat simultaneously, seeing that as more muscle is built, it supposedly burns fat anyway?

I am on a fat loss diet and I have made gains even with the diet I am on, I do have 3 complex carbs aday. Rice, beans and bread. I have lost on the ave of one pound per week and I see the cuts. I have 14 inch biceps, not bad for a women, when the diet is over I hope to still have those 14 inch biceps.

One note, your protein will have to come from other sources. The protein from nuts is inconsequential. It is not complete, as are most all vegetarian sources. If you are vegetarian, you will have to combine foods.

You will see gains for a while, maybe 4 weeks then tapper off. I was trying to gain strength and "cut" at the same time......it worked for about 4 weeks. It would sound like you can add muscle and get rid of body fat.....but its a scale thats very hard to balance.

Yeah, I get my fat from nuts and oils etc. i get my proteins from meats and whey etc. How does it work? How do you balance the scale?

I guess I'm thinking a minimum of "impact carbs" will allow for such a feat to be accomplished. I'm thinking a ton of protein, good fats and mostly fiber will lead to bulk and cut. Am I wrong?

If it was that easy..........body builders wouldn't bulk up off season, then "cut" up 3 months before.

Body builders are in a class of their own. I just want some more lean muscle. I assume Schwartzennegger bodies that compete go by seperate rules cuz they deal with so much more weight. (I/m 6'1, 190, looking to go to about 200 of lean muscle with low bodyfat). Maybe some supplements could help?
