Ok I am new here and I just started on March 3. I have a question for you guys. I love sweet stuff. I am such a chocaholic. I would like to try to eat fruit instead. What are the best fruits to eat? And what other healthy stuff can I snack on that will help with the cravings.
thanks

Welcome to FT!
I started here in Aug/Sept of last year, and have just loved it. Gleaned lots of good info from these boards, and done some great stuff w/ my workout routine.
As to your question, I would recommend not fruit but more protein to your diet. I am not a chocoholic, but have always had a hard time w craving candy and/or carbs. I noticed a HUGE (and I do mean HUGE) difference in my cravings when I (1) added lots more protein to my diet and (2) started eating 5-6 small meals a day.
Fruit I still try to be careful with, cause it does contain lots of natural sugars.
Good luck to you!

Oops, as to the rest of your question ...try to eat a lite yogurt (you get the fruit and the taste, but it has that protein!) or have a few pieces of beef or turkey jerkey. But watch the salt!

When you want that chocolate, go for an MRP bar or protein bar. That Definately will do it. Do a search here on meal replacements and protien bars.

I did notice almost all yogurt I could find had huge amounts of sugar which I try to avoid... Does anyone know of any yogurts that don't? Also if you really like chocolate, there are some tasty chocolate protein powders out there as well. =)

London, you can get plain yogurt and do whatever you want to it; I get it in quart size containers. It's cheap that way.
Don't know how hard core you are about the sweetener, but I used to get a fruit juice sweetened yogurt for my daughter; I think it was made by Stoneybrook Farms? Not sure it that name is correct, or even if they're still making it. My co-op stopped selling it. But it was pretty good.

As far as yogurts go, these are great-

try them and let me know what you think. nik

I have to agree with carivan on this one jeriwall, as a fellow chocoholic, i particularly love the EAS Energy bars, chocolate flavor that it. You can find them at almost any grocery store, they also have them at Walmart at a cheaper rate. They are like chocolate bars, so when i have a craving I eat one of them.
good luck!

I allow one free day/meal (depending how I feel) a week. Not only does this shock your body and prevent it from going into starvation mode...it is great mentally. I can eat whatever I want guilt free. This really does work if you are strict all week. Plus you find the foods you crave so much don't taste nearly as good when you have eaten well all week. PAT
