I may be wrong but I have heard that these devices can give very different results compared to each other. I think that you will be ok if you pick on method and stick to that one. That will show the overall decrease in BF%. As for being accurate, I am not sure, sorry

Hi emmylou, I too have the Tanita scale and it's none to accurate. It really depends on your level of hydration and the information you've preset into it (activity level) along with when you last ate....you get the picture. I just use mine as a general guide line and try and "weigh" myself at the same time...in the morning, after I pee. Even there, it varies as much as 5%. The best way to monitor your body fat is to take measurements and record them once a month and see how you change over time. The other way is to just see how your clothes are fitting. I know it's frustrating, but BF is hard to measure accurately. Personally, I like the impedence method they use at my gym, but only because it gives me the lowest numbers:) and it does seem to stay somewhat consistant.
-------------- Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there.
