if i did just 10 minutes cardio sfter a weight session would i see a difference?

Depends on your goals. A light cardio session following an intense arm workout for instance may be very good to get that pooled blood moving and nutrient rich blood flowing. But this is the only reason, and short duration at a very mild intensity. Other than that, an intense cardio session immediately after weight training may and normally is counterproductive to muscular gain. You are in a catablolic state post weight training(a heavy intense workout), and then turning around and doing an immediate intense cardio session will simply compound catabolism.(could very well nullify all the hard work you did in your resistance training session in other words). Now, if weight loss(any weight) is simply your goal, then this will be a tremendous caloric deficit, and will of course lead to faster weight loss, but at the expense of muscle.

I thought cardio after weight training was good?

To add to what BB1 had said; If you are going to do a bit of light cardio immediately after weights to flush out the old blood and bring in the new (a cool down really), and it's following an intense lower body session, DO NOT use running as a cool down exercise. The eccentric muscular contraction that takes place during the landing phase of a running stride will increase the microtrauma & hemorrhaging within the leg muscles. This would increase recovery time needed between sessions, and would be counterproductive to the whole point behind a cool down.
The ideal exercise (by far) in this situation would be a short cycling session since there is virtually no eccentric component while pedaling. Next best on the list would a stair climber or 'Concept II' type rowing machine. An elliptical machine would be so-so but not nearly as bad as running.
If you are cooling down following upper body weights running is fine.

so if i do some light cardio after a weights session then i could see some benifits, but i should only do this as a 'warm down'. thanks guys.

do about 10mins of hitt after workouts.....never after lowerbody days though.....this ok?

yeah thats fine, id cut cardio out of my routine, and then i realsied how slow i was getting so i thought it was about time i did something about it.

Are you looking to use cardio as a means of gaining muscle? That's pretty much impossible, though I guess some forms of cardio with high resistance settings may induce muscle growth.
HIIT cardio after an intense weight-lifting session would seem very counterproductive. You don't want to expend even more energy after a workout session which has drained your glycogen stores. Not to mention it prolongs getting your PWO nutrition.

um... i think you should keep the intensity of a post workout cardio session as low as possible (use it as a cool down)... so doing HIIT after a workout would be a bad idea any day of the week...
