My first aim is fat loss and fitness.
I would like to do some cardio work in the mornings before work, however i really can't see me getting to the gym in the morning in time.
Does anyne have any good sugestions for cardio work outs to do at home either with out or with minimal/cheep equipments.
Would it be enough to simply follow a step routine? worthwhile purchasing a cycling machine?
I don't mind spending a little if it's worthwhile but don't want to spend lots of equipment when it's all at the gym anyway =)
I don't fancy running outdoors due to our weather.

Here are some suggestions:
1) Running - free, except for a pair of running shoes if you don't have one 2) Elliptical trainer - $100 and above 3) Stationery bike - $200 and above 4) Jump rope - less than $10
Others include biking, swimming, bag work and sports.

Hey, there are those Tae Bo videos. $40. I have seen some of the folks that really got into those and it worked wonders on their bodies. All you need is a VCR which most of us have.

Thanks for the sugestions =)
I'd totally forgoten about skipping, used to do that as part of my warm up back when i was young lol. Not sure we have room here but i might be able to work something.
What is the elliptical trainer? guess i'll go do a search on that.
I'd be fine with running if the weather here (england) wasn't so bad, i just know i wouldn't do it if it was too hot or raining.
I'll probably get a video for idea's then end up with headphones and my own routine.
First i have to actually get up in the morning =) currently i'm out the house around 15 mins after i wake up.

There are lots of arobic tapes that you can buy. They are fairly cheap and one that I have that incorporates arobics and strength is Firm Basics. It is awesome. I also have become a yoga fan.

One cheap idea I'm trying for fat loss is a very light weight (5-10lbs max) very high volume workout. First I do a range of stretches hold each stretch for 10 secs, walk fast on the spot for 5 mins then do 20 bodywieght squats, that should get the heart started.
Then I do whatever I want with small and very cheap plastic DB's. For example 2x30 squats 1x30 deadlifts 1x50x shrugs 1x30 calf raises 3x15 shoulder press, curls tricep extensions, whatever. I tell you it really puts a sweat on and you could even use bean cans and stuff if you dont want to buy the bells.
