carbs/ simple and complex

OK, here's where I am at now. I know that there are simple carbs, which are the sugars, and complex carbs. But, let's say your diet calls for 400 carbs daily, should a certain percentage of those be complex carbs or do you, on the ocassion you eat simple carbs, find the ones on the lower end of the glycemic index?? And I do know to stay away from high fructose corn syrup
Or is there a target number of grams of sugar you should consume??

First off 400 gr. of carbs is alot, and getting 400 gr. of healthy, complex fibrous carbs is going to be difficult at best. You will basically be 'chewing' all day long.

Who told you to do 400 gr. of carbs on a diet I assume is a weight loss diet?

I'm not even on a weight loss diet and I only averaged 175 Carbs in the past 5 days and this is at 2476 calories on average per day.

You should go for mostly complex but simple is good to like a banana some corn ect.

Well, also if you are thinking GI, this is so flawed and useless maybe if you are diabetic, that it matters not. When you consider most folks eat mixed meals, this throws all that completely out the window. "Complex" is a very missused word to begin with. Complex usually simply denotes more original fiber, etc. Not processed in any form.
