I have a job right now that is extremely boring and I am trying to switch careers. When I get bored I tend to eat and I am not sure how to alleviate this problem.

try reading a good fitness mag when you are bored. And also eat something nutritious.

In addition to keeping healthy snacks close by, keep a bottle of water at all times on your desk. Whenever you feel the urge to put something in your mouth, take a big swig or two of the water. It's so good for you!

Go for a walk to the bathroom or water cooler, make reasons to get up and move (print to a printer across the room).
Do kegel exercises (no one will know) or do mini-butt tightners, or crunches in your seat (if possible). Daydream...
Good Luck!

I do the same thing...... eat when I'm bored. I don't feel hungry at all but I just feel like snacking on something. What I do is drink a LOT of herbal tea. It fills up the tummy and stops the cravings.

A bag of bran type cereal will be a munchie that will fill you up..

I drink tons and tons of water and it doesn't seem to fill me up. I think I will try tea. I am open to many more suggestions.

sux that you're bored at work...could you email friends or search online?
how about brushing your teeth at work after real snacks/lunch? i find that will keep me from snacking for an hour or so.
i also like water, herbal tea and sometimes lemon or lime sparkling mineral water. there's extra sodium (bad), but bubbles (good for feeling full...).

I also eat when bored. :) And I'm bored at work a LOT! I keep water there and drink it, read this forum, take a walk and have a chat with a co-worker, etc. I also break my meals out into 6 small ones a day. This means I have a mid-morning meal while at work and a mid-afternoon meal while at work. That helps.
Never thought about brushing my teeth! Good idea!
