I have been working out all winter bodybuilding. I want to start cutting in March. I was wondering if the body for life training and diet was a good plan to go by. (bodyforlife.com) I noticed it says to do chest/shoulders/back/biceps/triceps all in one day and it is done twice a week. All lower body exercises are done in one day also, but only once a week. The rest of the days are cardio. If anybody has seen the workout plan on the website, I would appreciate their info on the training. The diet sounds good to me and I have read on this website of other people recommending recipes from the bodyforlife website.

If you ask me the Body-for-life program is a good program for a beginner to start training, however, if your goal is strict bodybuilidng(going for big mass) it's not the best program.

I agree with Mike, great program for beginners. It sounds to me like your past that already.

Hey Fouts,
That is a decent workout program. You have to adhere to it pretty strict to get results though. I lost 60 pounds in about 24 weeks on it. Also in regards to the workouts. The first week you work upper body on Monday and Friday with Wednesday for your lower body. The following week it is lower body on Monday and Friday and Wednesday is your upper body day. It flips back and forth ever week so it is pretty balanced. Your Tuesday, Thurday, and Saturdays are for High Intestity short duration cardio and Sudays are free days. Its a decent program but ya gotta stick to it.

Thanks for the info. I'm not really trying to lose weight, just trying to get cut up. I've got some mass, I just want definition now for the upcoming summer. I'll probably use their diet recipes, but I'll keep looking for a workout plan for cutting. Thanks again.

Also with the BFL....make sure you stick to the right foods. You will see tremendous results.

When done correctly, the BFL workout is very high intensity. But you have to work at the highest intensity to get the great results. For me it was too hard to do at the gym since you have to go IMMEDIATELY to a second exercise for the body part you are working and many times the weights I needed or machine was taken right when I needed it. I think also most of the folks that had the best luck losing fat (besides sticking to the eating plan, of course,) did more cardio than Mr. Phillips suggests. I think if you can find a way to make it work out, it's a wonderful program.
