Hello! I was courious how to figure out what my current body fat percentage is..and where I should be!..I've been reading a lot of posts ..writing down questions..this seems to be one that I can't find the answer to so far!But this has been very informative...I guess I'm the kind of person who has to make sure that I know all I can about stuff..I want to make being healthy a lifestyle for me...instead of the tired obesity that I find myself dreading every day....Probably sounds depressing..I don't think so...b/c I'm taking baby steps to change this and I want to do it right!I don't feel like the ME I should be...Anyway, any help would be great! Thanks in advance!

Congratulations on deciding to improve your health and well-being!

The best way to get your bodyfat measured is to have a qualified trainer do it with calipers - call around local health clubs and see who knows how to do it and how much they charge (shouldn't be more than 15 bucks, usually).

Online bodyfat calculators are not very accurate and a lot of circumstances can eefect the bioelectrical impedence methods (hand held or scales), under water weighing is the gold standard for boy composition measurement, but it is not very available or affordable. And infrared is alright if you can find someone with the equipment, but it also has it's detractors.

I'm not being sarcartic here, but the best BF scale is our clothes and eyes, unless you are getting ready for a competition. The (numbers)scales can just drive us crazy!
