What's the correlation between the BMI and the Body Fat Percentage?
I used freetrainer's fitness calculators to figure out both my Body Mass Index and my Body Fat Percentage, but i'm a little confused over the results:
-- My BMI is 18, which falls under the lean BMI (low amount of body fat);
yet...
-- My Body Fat Percentage is 25%, which is the highest percentage under the "healthy" range for a female.
Is 25% body fat "low"? I wasn't sure... What's a good BMI place to be at? And what's a good Body Fat Percentage to be at??

Oh if I remember right then the BMI should be between 20 and 25 BUT the problem with that one is that it doesn't make any difference between fat and lean muscle mass. SO a big good looking bodybuilder would be fat in their eyes..... 25% body fat for a women is okey. It's not fat and it's not extremely lean either. You need to do what you feel is the best. Look in the mirror and like what you see, that's the very best calculator out there!!

BMI is a load of cr--, if I went by BMI with my current Lean Mass of 140 lbs At my height I am morbidly obese - same goes with Insurance and doctor's height and weight charts (do i sound a little bitter? sorry, but i was told in my teens and early twenties, when I was already muscular for my age, that I should weigh 118lbs. Can you say eating disorders and self-esteem issues?)
