I am an avid athlete, unfortunatly due to injury I had to stop the sport I was in, sprint kayaking. Because of stopping I have lost muscle mass and gained fat. I want to get back into the shape I was, but I still need to be careful of my injuries. I have knee problems, and I have been told by orthopedic surgeons either to stop running or get knee surgery. I was told biking would help my knee so I'm wondering about the cardio benefits of biking, and how it will help get my lower body back into shape.
cycling is a great cardio workout. Add in a wt training routine and you'll whip yourself back into shape in no time. Good Luck with your goals and welcome to FT!
