Any one watch this new "reality" show?

I thought the red team trainer was a lil hard on the red team.....

I'm kinda curious though about which "diet" will work......eat more.....or eat less....

Whats you all's take?

Well, the eat more diet is what is being taught here, and from all the research I have done, I am sticking with the blue team!!

On another note the wrong impresson is given too abotu these diets, I highly doubt they lost 12 14 18lbs in a week, people don't realive that on a low carb diet you lose alot of water weight as well. I just wish some things would be explained more. And not suger coat it.

This is a cool show and will hopefully open the eyes of some of the fat bodies walking around today. And I agree andrew, that female trainer was WAY to hard on those guys right off the bat. A trainer like that will injure there client. I think that since these people are so heavy, that ANY way they eat will work. The real test will be when they are done with this show and get back into real life. I bet you that some of these people will go right back to there old habits.

I think that the show was horrible. I think that it send the wrong message about how to lose weight. How many people really would work out for five hours?

I have no doubt they lost that much weight, when you are so over weight and out of shape, you have a lot of water weight to lose and your body will shed more fat as it has never seen excersise and now it does. Now lets see what they post for weekly weight loss after week 3.

I noticed the little 5 pound dumbells the big black guy was using...yeah, they'll do a lot.

Several times the trainers or host said the show was not about dieting but about creating a new healthy lifestyle - what overtraining (5 hour workout for a severely out of shape person!?!) and low-carb crash dieting (especially while working your ass off) have to do with a healthy lifestyle is beyond me. It's obvious the focus, at least for the red team, will be on losing as much weight as possible as quickly as possible, not teaching and establishing healthy habits for life.

I thought that show was HORRIBLE, it was entertaining for all of about 5 seconds then I realized how incorrectly they're doing everything... The ONLY reason they're losing weight is because they're so big in the first place... did you guys see the last episode where they voted that "skinny" girl off, because she only lost 5 puonds, supposedly she went home and continued that lifestyle and lost an additional 15 lbs, and it shouwed a picture... I think thats a bunch of BS, ...

I caught the rerun this past saturday, and the new one last night (Tuesday). Why didn't they lose as much this last time around, were their bodies in shock or something?
2004/10/27, 02:21 PM
Nope, the first week was mostly water weight loss.

I couldn't believe last night... nobody told these guys when they were being weighed in 'it's okay.' No support (from what I saw). And the fact they called they guy who lost the most last week 'the biggest loser' seemed kind of demeaning to me... I never thought I'd say this, but bring back prime time soaps.. Where's JR when you need him?

Yup... there was a time where I was tired of sitcoms as they seemed to boring and generic... bring 'em back... reality TV isn't very real...

I agree that the show is stupid, but I found that watching them work out kind of motivated me.

The whole reality thing is getting on my last nerve...The Apprentice being outside of that.

The BFL is a horrible show....next thing you know, we'll be seeing promos for "fat fear factor"

The ratings for these "Extreme Makeover" shows are high, and that's why we get this. I haven't watched it and probably won't. I'm not sure how I even feel about this show. Being a fat guy (although not as big as the people in the promos) makes me sympathetic toward them, but not enough to watch them in their attempt to lose weight.
