I have heard so many different things (adkins, south beach, etc). What is the best diet for getting really lean at 40? Should I just follow the nutrition section of this site? Are there some tips that might help? I am over 40 as of last Thursday, and I see no reason why I can get in the best shape of my life. Thanks y'all!

Just clean your diet up, portion control it and watch the calories (overall) that you eat per day. Lok at the nutrition section for a post called guide to healty eating. It lists a good choice of food types to choose from.

Mutt is right.. eat right...
Initially I tracked my daily calorie intake on this website. That really helped keep my focus around portion size and food choices. The inventory of food items contained in the database is very complete, way better than several I have viewed.
The second part of the equation is regular exercise, cardio and strength training. If weight reduction is your goal, 2lb per week is healthy rate until you reach you target...
Good luck

The nutrition section of this site is pretty good, but I noticed that it is missing a listing for funnel cake. Hmmmm. I wonder why.
