When doing barbell bench what do the different grip widths affect. Wide, medium and close....what is the difference when benching. What grip should be used to push the heaviest amount of weight on flat bench?
I wide grip hits the outer sides of the pecs the close grip hits inner chest and triceps ( it is used more for a tir workout). the medium ( slightly past shoulder width is the best for over all chest work.
