Place your arms out to your sides and see where your hands naturally end up (next to your hips, but they angle out a little naturally). This is the anatomical position and the ez curl bar facilitates a comfortable curl while maintaining a natural angle at the wrists.
If your wrists hurt you may be doing a few things -

Make sure you are not locking them into an unnatural range of motion - check that natural angle and use it.Hands a few inches wider tha shoulders.

Don't curl your wrists up before curling the bar and don't let them drop down before the descent of the bar. Keep your hands lined up with your arms/forearms.

Don't progress your weights too fast - use a weight until you can complete 3 sets of 8 reps with out breaking form, then go up on your next workout, this gives your tendons and ligaments times to strengthen and keep up with the muscle growth.

Make sure when you are moving the dumbbells and plates around you are using your whole hands, not just finger tips and watch your form in daily activities.

I hope this helps!
