Hey, Im an avid weight lifter, however I sort of let my self get out of shape, i haven't missed a work out in the 3 years i've been doing it. However for someone who has lifted for 3 years you wouldn't know it. I did body for life last summer and was in awesome shape, i continued it but sorta changed it, and i started not really eating as well as i was and im still in pretty good shape but not as good as i was. Since like sept. of last year i've been working each muscle group per day, like arms, chest, shoulders, etc... in one day for each, each muslce gets its on day, i dont do my legs and im not going to do my legs, and i take the weekends off. i was doing like 100 reps of dff. excersises for each group. Is this not enough? and has anyone acutally seen results from any of the ft programs? they look minimal compared to what im used to but im not sure what im doing now is any better. Any help? Sorry for taking so long :)...

100 reps for each group? I would think that you are way overtrained. I was like you in thinking that what Ft offered was not enough, but trying it for a few weeks just like they outlined I found that my muscles responded to it. I amnot sure from what you wrote what exactly is your training schedule? Do you do a whole body workout 3 times a week or what? I really think that if you are doing 100 reps per exercise per muscle group you are overtraining, and not using enough weight maybe? AS for your legs do you have an injury or something for not training them? They are the foundation for the whole body. With out them your gains will suffer. Let me know in greater detail what exactly you are doing and what you want to gain.

Um... stop smoking ? :-) Seriously, I would discount that as a factor into why you aren't gaining like you think you should.

To answer your question, "YES" I actually have seen results! In less than 3 months on the progressive gains routine, I gained 15 pounds, increased muscle mass and lowered my cholesterol level 25%. Definitely try it out for 8 to 12 weeks and see how it goes.

Opps... I meant to say, "I would NOT discount that as a factor"... in other words, smoking might be adversely affecting your body.

Since you have no injury you should train whole body I have friends that do what you are doing they look great from waist up. Waist down they have chicken legs they look rediculous when you look at the whole picture. And they just dont like working on the legs and as Mutt said with out your legs you go no where. As far as the smoking one word stop !!!!! there is no reason that you can come up with not to stop. I have resently quit after 20 years of smoking it has been 5 months and I see a big difference in my work outs and every thing I doI would be glad tou help you with this if you are interested please email me. This is a very important part of health & well being. And yes reformed smokers can be the biggest pain you could ever imagine. But nothing like watching a friend or loved one shrivle up and die in front of you with cancer, I saw it three times before I smartened up.

The 12 week abs also work.
