Just looking for some motivation to quit, and wondering how much it hurts my weight training.
Have at me everyone. I need it.

When I smoked the resting heartrate was 80. Within a day of not smoking it dropped to 58. Check it after lifting heavy and it will scare the hell out of you.

Just say "no." Otherwise, you might as well eat McDonalds, workout for 2 minutes and drink heavily, and join www.iwannadiefromlungcancer.com. :dumbbell:

I agree. There are way too many other productive things to spend your time and money on.

I smoked 80 a day and gave up because I forgot I smoked. This was through memory loss caused by (in this order in the same day)a stroke/car crash/brain damage, followed by months of psycho therapy, neurological and other surgery. Cognitive psychiatry and reintegration back into society.
Back in the summer of 2002 I was re learning sight perception and how to cross the road as I'd forgot the crossing code at age 37 like I was back in my childhood years. I'm allright now(give or take) but I can tell you what I suffered as a result of smoking, at times I wished I was dead! Now I look forward only as I had the wake up call... So I'm better than I ever was before, I enjoy life better than ever- you could say that too is due to smoking.
Give it up because if it don't kill you, it can ruin day to day living

I quit two years ago. I thought about it,cut back, then choose a day and quit. 1 month later I found out that I could adopt my twins and that they had been born about the same day I quit. Now I just think about being able to see them grow. I still think about smoking everyday but there are to many reason not to start again. This the longest that I have gone with out smoking since I started in 1973. Go for it. Sometimes being a quitter is the right thing.
