we have a kid at our gym that is always hanging around the serious lifters, constantly asking advice and never taking it. He's a victim of muscle mags, "the latest thing", advertising, and thinking everyone other than him has great genetics. In truth, it doesn't matter what program he is on, he lacks heart, and so he will never see any progress.

He asked one of our guys for an advanced program...

"The only difference between an advanced trainee and a beginner, is the weight they use, and the form with which they move it. It all comes down to the same principles. Ronnie still benches and deadlifts, just like you, but with a lot more weight."

Best advice I've heard given in a while.
