I don't know if I've finally come off my plateau or what, but I've been steadily losing without trying at all. I lost 1.5 lbs last week, and I didn't subtract the couple of pounds that accounted for my clothes, the food in my belly and the water I'd had by the time I remembered to weigh myself at the gym. I'm at about 116 right now (5'3") but look really quite muscly (actually, kind of getting wiry) Here's the thing, I'm not trying to lose! I wanted to stay a little more padded and put on a few lbs of muscle, I even upped my carbs, but I just keep leaning down. I'm eating like crazy, and I'm not really complaining, but what the heck is going on? I think I may have developed the metabolism of a gerbil.

LOL @ effalunt - metabolism of a gerbil!

I wouldn't worry too much about a little weight loss - we all tend to fluctuate a little each month in our weight (water gain etc). I would be concerned if it continues though...Are you doing alot of cardio? Heavy lifting? Are the foods you eat containing fats too? Maybe you are burning your carbs away?

I actually cut my cardio down a little. Less time, more intensity. Maybe now that the weather is getting warmer, my body isn't trying to keep itself so warm!

You make a good point effalunt. I am from Michigan and it tends to get pretty cold here. Without any dietary changes, I always seem to gain an extra 3-5 lbs during the winter (and no, I don't bulk up). I am almost positive that it is due to your body holding onto water since one wouldn't sweat a whole lot in 10 degree weather.

Adding muscle helps to burn all the fat away. The more muscle you have the better it fights fat.
