Am I Losing Weight Too Fast?

I've dropped a little over 20lbs in about 3 weeks (from 330 to 310 lbs). A friend of mine is concerned because she feels I'm losing at an unhealthy rate. I should point out that I'm not doing any crazy fad diet. I'm eating fruits, veggies, lean meats and EVEN starches. I'm drinking 64 oz + of water daily. I'm also working out a lot. I do weights 4 times a week (a schedule from this site, in fact). I also try to do AT LEAST 40 mins of cardio per day. On weight days, I do the cardio after weights.

So, what do you think? Am I losing weight at an unhealthy rate?

Thanks,

D

well you weigh a lot, and I've seen overwieght people like yourself who lose much, much more in the beginning than when they get to a more ideal weight. I wouldn't worry. If you aren't overdoing it and you are eating, then let your body do what it wants to do. I promise you that once you are in the 200's it will slow a bit. My only advice is maybe drink more water. I'd shoot for closer to a gallon, which you might be getting since it says 64+ a day. The only bad thing that could be going on is you losing water weight in lieu of fat. Keep up your hard work and congrats on the loss. Follow the programs here and you'll be fine. Try the nutrition tracker. It helps me make sure I get all my required nutrients each day.

Davidday - It sounds like you are on the right track - be sure you take at least one day off from cardio.
How do you feel - energywise, health wise? Are you feeling good or wornout?

People who start out heavier lose faster at the start, so I wouldn't be concerned unless you are feeling dragged out.

Keep it up !

Well, I wake up at 3:30 am Mon-Fri, so I know I don't get enough sleep. But I am certainly feeling better than I did a month ago!
