ok ive seen in different places all different ideas and what not to have and eat right after your workout. i just basically want to know different peoples opinions and ideas on this of what they think works best.
ive heard all different stuff like some turkey, tuna on crackers tuna sandwhichs stuff like peanut butter sandwhich's and whey shake with milk and whey shake without milk, i was just wondering also whats better straight after a workout simple or complex carbs because i think i read simple carbs was good but isnt milk a simple carb so milk with whey? then eat again 30minutes or hour after i dont know. Just give me some opinions or tips of a meal and order sort of thing what to eat within the first hour or 2 after a workout. thanks in advance - tim:)

tim, you want your postworkout shake/food to get into your blood stream as quickly as possible. You are right that milk does contain lactose, a simple carb but milk will slow down absorption because of the type of protein that is in milk.
The other thing I've learned here is that although fructose is also a simple carb, it is not a good postworkout carb. If you look throught the other posts you see a consensus that immediately postworkout the best thing to have is a mixture of whey protein and maltose/dextrose.
