How long (usually) will it take for one's body to develop muscle memory for circuit training? I've switched my gym routine to almost exclusively circuit training and have seen awesome results, i.e., body fat loss and more definition.
I was just wondering how long do you think it will take before my body starts adapting to these workouts and I stop seeing the benefit of them?
Also, I'm doing them about 3 times a week. Is this the right amount? And if so, what is there to do on the off-days? Heavy lifting is compromised because of the circuit training (working out almost every muscle the day before), and the circuit training is almost like cardio. So what to do?
Thanks

This will depend on a lot of factors.

For example, if you're doing the same circuit 3 days a week, then you will adapt very fast. If you are changing what circuits you do frequently, then it'll take longer. It will also depend on how long you've been training for, your bodytype, and even what you are training for.

My suggestion would be to figure out your goal. If you are trying to lose fat, then circuit training is a great way to do it, but don't expect to get stronger while doing them. However, after you achieve this goal, reevaluate and determine if it is worth keeping circuits.

Another suggestion to take if you want to keep heavy lifting in, is to do your circuit training after you do your heavy stuff. 1-2 heavy compound moves at the begining of your session, and then finish by working everything else you want to do into a circuit style workout for the rest of your workout.
