Hello everyone,

I haven't been here in forever. Shame on me! It's time to get back into the trying to lose weight thing again.

I have a different issue though, and it's a long story ... sorry hehe ... you know me .... if you remember me that is..... so I thought I'd ask your help. I know some of you on here are pretty darn smart when it comes to all this working out and exercise.... :)

I baught some Arid Total deoderant about 5 months ago, put it on one afternoon and the next morning I woke up and had massive infections under both arms. Couldn't go to the doctor with no insurance. Two months later got hired full time with my job and my insurance started so I went to the doctor the day it started, two doctors said they've never seen a reaction like this so they gave me steroids to help get better and told me to go to a dermatologist (sp).

We got married on October 16th, went to Padre for the honeymoon, yeah wonderful wedding and great honeymoon! hehe :) I'm Mrs. Brown now.....hehe

When we got back I set an appointment for the derm. Night before the derm appt went out to dinner, started feeling sick, within 10 minutes or so my legs started swelling HUGE, my chest started hurting, my arms were hurting, neck, everything felt like it was going to explode. Went into the emergency room and they asked my name and put me into surgery. The doctor said he didn't have enough time to wait for the shot to kick in and numb it up. Talk about horrible!!!!!! I hope no-one ever goes through this!!!!

Turns out it was an abscess the size of an egg. Thank GOD for emergency rooms, and Thank GOD my insurance had just started for my new job.

The surgery went well, and it was doing great 'till I decided to try working out again and 3 days of no air conditioning at work ugh! Now it's swollen, red and irritated again. Went to the doctor today and she said only do lower body exercises, no upper body and try to put something under your arm to keep from having any friction in that area, have to start using almay deoderant, change my laundry detergent, stop taking shirts to the dry cleaners, etc..... all sorts of things have to change.....ugh

I guess with all that babble and crazy story....my question is...what are lower body exercises? And does anyone have any suggestions of what to put under my arm to keep from getting any friction when working out?

Please help....

Signed Thankful to be alive.....hehe :)

ok lower body exercises - anything that uses legs & you don't move your arms - squats, lunges & leg lifts come to my mind at this moment (you might want to check about abs)

for cardio work - I owuld start off walking

as for what to wear - try to find 100% cotton tank tops or sports bras that come up high

you might want to look at Ivory soaps to wash with - they are alot cheaper & don't add the chemicals like the others (my mom had something very close to that & that is what she uses)

Hello Reddy,

Those are good suggestions. I can do those without any problems. I found a little lumbar pillow too that I can use under my arm and it helps too.

Been using Dove soap. They have a new one that's hypo-allergenic too so that's great!

Thanks for the suggestions!
