I read somewhere that working your abs hard makes them stick out a lot and makes you look fat (strength competition people) I want a flat stomach (Lean/bodybuilder) is what I heard true or can I continue working my abs?

If you have some fat stored there, it'll make your tummy look bigger...

Lemme clarify... exercising the abs builds muscle, but if you don't reduce your fat, any fat on top of the abs will only make the fat stick out.. you need to watch your diet...

Arnold had steroids, instead. Not to derail this into a creatine thread, but it's a safe and effective (to what amount varies by person) supplement.
Personal prefernce here, but I don't even bother with training my abs. I work them enough doing other exercises (lots of movements involve abdominal work indirectly) that I don't need to devote any time to them. Getting your bf % low enough to have a six-pack is much more difficult than actually building up your abs through training, imo.

Haha Metalzone, you're right, Arnold didn't have creatine, but he had Anabolic Steroids, which lead to cancer. Arnold and all those men like the hulk all took steroids, they weren't extremely genuine in their methods, but I must say I do respect them because they worked their asses off to acheieve their bodies. Yes I do know what you are talking about, where people have such ridiculously large abs that if they have a shirt on it looks almost like a beer belly. I see a few of those guys in the gym, and the thing is, yes, HUGE ab muscles will look like that, and they'll look worse if there is fat on them, however to get ab muscles that big.. takes a long long time, so I really wouldn't worry about it.
