Hi guys...A very Happy New Year to u all. Just recently became member of freetrainer. My training is going good except 2 things I am sure abt:
1) I spent abt 5-10 minutes doing warmups but feel at the end of my 30min work out that I am exhausted and I feel slight pain in my body the next day? Wondering if its just normal or am I not doing warmups properly

2) I do situps everyday and when I do it I find that I feel a very tight tension in my throat and it feels very dry as if I have sore throat. Does anyone know what or where am I going wrong??? plz advice

I would appreciate your comments and opinions regarding this as I am very new to this weight training. Many Thanks

Soreness in the muscles is normal. It will get better. Regarding your neck...You may be pulling too hard on your neck. Read the proper form for crunches in the exercise resources. True sit ups are hard on the back. Again look up some of the different ab exercises.

Good luck, welcome to FT.

i ahte situps, they put lots of pressure on the back, neck and most of the time people " pull" with their hip flexors and not there abbs, crunches are so much betterm but if u insest on doing situps put ur hands across ur chest and relax ur neck and legs, and "pull" from ur abbs not ur legs

the burn is just muscles being sore, which is a good thing cuz the muscles will grow in greater gains. just don't try to have soreness every workout or it may permanently damage the muscle.
drink more fluids before and after your ab workouts.

Next time you do your sit-ups or crunches, notice if you are holding your breath. This may cause the soreness around the throat.
You shouldn't work your ab muscles everyday, give them time to rest.

Yes, crunches is needed not sit ups.
Try to look at the ceiling constantly then you cannot pull on your neck.

Does your throat feel dry after other exercises. If so, you may not be drinking enough water.

It's not what we eat or drink occasionally, but what we consume on a daily basis that determines our ongoing level o health.
