hi, when training you need to work out the lower, med & upper abs.. so 3 exercises is fine. # of reps doesn't matter much, what matters most is the intensity of each rep of an ab exercise. doing 200 fast rapid setups is not nearly as effecient as 25-30 intense ones.

reverse crunches i think are the most essential if your trying to trim ur wastline. Doesnt meen that this WILL trim your waistline but it influences muscle growth in that area

I think that using the stability ball when doing excercises is great. For example I feel my abs working harder if I do crunches with the ball compared to without the ball.

And dont forget probably the most important thing, you can do ab exercises from now till eternity, but if you don't change your diet, they will never show. Diet is probably 80% of the washboard abs everyone wants.

Looking for some advice - I know that I should have a recovery time on my workouts - does this include abs, or can I do these daily? Any thoughts or suggestions?
I am watching my diet, partaking in "good" fat, etc. and I want to make sure I am the most effective as possible.
Thanks

Abs are a muscle like any other no matter what you want to think. They should be worked hard with weight a maximum of twice per week, rest in between. They need time to recouperate also. You can overtrain them as easy as any other muscle.
