OK. I know there are endless posts that start out like this, but... I wanna burn the last two inches off my abs and I also don't wanna lose any muscle. I know there is no such thing as spot reduction, which is fine cuz my belly is where most of the fat is, and I don't have much fat to begin with.
I am doing HIIT. What I need to know about is diet. I've read contradictory info about burning those few inches of fat, so I need some direction. Do I do low carb? Do I just cut back on calories. If I do low carb, do I have to worry about losing muscle. I don't have much to spare, so I wanna maintain it. I eat healthy carbs (whole wheat) and healthy fats (peanut butter, olive oil etc.). I weigh about 190-195, I'm 6'1" and I'm estimating I need to burn about 2 inches of fat from my waist. How many carbs, fats and proteins should I eat? What other tricks are there, if any? Also, how much cardio should I do and do you think I could burn off the 2 inches within a month or so while maintaining my muscle? Help Please!

protein u need at leas tur body weight.....but if u r gonna diet i would say up it a lil bit to about 250grams a day there are 4 calories per gram of proetin so......250x4 =1000 calories if u base ur diet on a 2000 calories diet then u have 100 grames to play with for carbs and fats..... carbs also have 4 caloreis per gram so if u eat say 200 grams of carbs thats 800 calories, no wu have 200 left over, divide that by 9( how many calories are in fat)which gies u 22.2grms of fat.....this is how u come up with a " diet" everyione is different so i can't tel u one way or another i'm not you so u just have to play with it.......easy way to tell is if u lose more than 2 lbs per week u need to up carbs cause ur burning more than fat, hope this helps a lil......but please these are only to show calculations , I'M NOT tell u to do this diet!

You must create a caloric deficit to tap into your fat stores. You do not have to cut out carbs, only the bad ones(refined). You need the carbs, especially fibrous complex carbs and veggies. Find your maintenance calories, I cannot again stress this enough, without this info it is just hit and miss. Then fit your calories into a 50/20/30 or 40/30/30, p/c/f. Then when you have this, you can start a caloric deficit by reducing your calories by 250 per day, or add enough exercise to do so. As your weight(fat loss) goes, let it go till it stops. Then you will have to make another adjustment, etc. There will at some time come a point where you actually have to raise your calories for a bit to keep things running (thyroid, metabolism, etc.) at an optimal rate as to not let your body shut down metabolic rate in response to a too calorically restricted diet. Then the next week, proceed with your caloric reduction from there. But don't worry about that yet, just the first part for now.

Should I use trimspa for a couple of weeks or something? Is that stuff safe? It seems very time consuming to figure all this stuff out. I just wanna burn a little fat from my abs, which i could probaably do in a few weeks, but because I wanna maintain all my muscle, it adds a level of increased difficulty. That's why I ask about the suppliment.

froshman, PROPER diet and exercise are the key. Billions of dollars have been wasted on miracle diet formulas. There are no magic bullets for weight loss. Abs are near and dear to most of us here. I work mine hard and have actually lost about 6 inches around my middle. The definition I want is there. its just under the same layer of fat you speak of. I have tried most everything BB1 has suggested and found the advice he gives to be right on. I'll keep on with the clean calories, counting , cardio, lifting and stretching until I get there.
Good luck and hang in there.

My problem is that I do eat properly and I have for years. I eat whole wheat, natural peanut butter, lean meats, no sweets other than fruit or maybe jelly on a BBJ sandwich. I don't eat a lot of sugar or fat. I remember I did cardio for 1 week straight without eating many carbs at all, like an Atkins approach or something, but I stopped so I don't know if that would have given me the results I'm looking for. Anyway, I want to burn this fat off quick. I know it don't take much to burn like 5 pounds of fat or whatever, so I don't know what to do. Cut out all carbs for a few weeks and do cardio everyday? That's why I ask about trimspa. Because I want results and the proper diet etc. doesn't seem to do much for me alone. I think I need to shock my body by cutting carbs, and going nuts on protein to maintain muscle, or using a suppliment, like trimspa or stacker 2 or something. I just don't know what the best road to go down is, and I have spring break coming up soon, so I want them quick, and I think it's more than possible to get them in that time frame. What do you think?
