Hi, I have been working out for 2 months though not so regurlaly. Am 136 pounds and 5"9..so am trying to gain weight
Still have a few questions
1. Is it okay to alternate body parts in the same session e.g. do one shoulder press and follow with tricep, then go back to another shoulders exercise? Reason is when I do 3 exercises (4 sets each) of shoulder, i am pretty much pooped on the shoulder muscles. I would like to give them a break with another exercise
2. I just cant eat enough. I know 6 meals is critical, but my office life does not allow it. I now have a ready to drink shake (42 gms protein) once an evening plus a good lunch and dinner. What are the chances I can gain... can I increase the RTD drinks and hope to gain?
What do you think?
Any advice would be most appreciated,...
Cheers

If you can't tops fpr mini-meals, have a rtd - that is what they are for. Without enough food, growth is hard.
rest adequately between sets. If growth is your focus, alternating may not be the best thing. rest 1 to 1/12, maybe even 2 minutes, depending on how heavy you are going and then do your next set. You are supposed to be tired by the end - you are working out. When you are fatigued, lighten the weights a little and go for the quality of the movement - working through your range-of-motion and really feeling the muscles. besides, when you work your triceps, shoulders are involved a little and when you work your shoulders triceps are definitely involved, so you aren't really getting a break.

I get the point on the rest between sets... I do go hard.. hopefully will result in improvement
