I will admit it, I am not very strong and so I was wondering if I absolutely have to do the warmup set. For instance, I had incline barbell presses today and I was to do 16, 12, 10, 8. The lightest bar is 45 lbs. I can't do 16 at 45 lbs. and even if I could it wouldn't be considered a light weight for me, which is what I should be aiming for in a warmup set, right? So I skipped the 16. Was that terribly wrong of me?

You should be fine. I would suggest that you do as many as you can at 45 lbs. as your 1st set warmup the next time around. That way, you'll actually do 4 sets instead of 3.

There should be a shorter bar at the gym that is for curls and so on.. maybe you could use that with a closer grip it might be kind of awkward but thats probably what i'd try.. not an ez-curl bar tho...

No Lumina, don't skip the warm up set..... It warms your joints and makes the blood circulate faster. Hmm yes maybe it can be annoying but why not choose two or three different exercises and do the warm up set of each without stopping?!! Great warm up, you'll not loose any time and your metabolism will make a mega jump!

Why not the EZ bar?

Well I thought it would be already odd to use the shorter bar and a closer grip. I didn't think to suggest an ez-curl bar since I thought the curves might mess up her grip more.. i'd probably use some dumbells and do dumbell presses as a warm up set then do the barbell presses next anyway....

Okay, thanks. I was using the EZ bar for my warmups, but I think I'll switch to dumbells.
