I just tried doing hanging twisting leg raises for the first time today, and I found that I am having trouble with it. It's not the exercise itself, its the fact that my grip gives out before my abs. Is there a way to counter this?
Please help.

It's just like any other excercise.Grip is about hand muscles, so to get a better grip you need to train them.
It will get better if you keep with it. Or you can try do some excercises specificaly on your hands.

It is good to train the grip, but like you I have a hard time doing that as well. What I do is try to hit at least a good first set or 2. then I use my versa-grips for the last few reps.

Use lifting straps in addition to doing specific grip exercises.
