hi everyone I am new to the site and I was wondering if anyone new of a good exersize to get rid of the excess fat from my thighs. One thing I should mention is I only eat about half the required protein my body needs in a day. Would this have anything to do with it.

To loose the fat you need to go into a calorie deficit. Are you lifting weights or doing any cardio? How much do you weigh? It's all about numbers... Gimme some info and I'll throw some numbers out to ya..

Iam 5'7 130 pounds. I do weight training and cardio.I lift weights 3 times a week for about 45 min to an hour each time. I also run on the treadmill about 1/2 hour after my weights.

You need around 2000 calories a day to maintain your weight. Are you keeping track of your daily calories? If not, try using fitday, it's free. Go in to a calorie deficit of 500 calories, this will give you about a 1b a week loss in weight. You can't spot reduce. Why are you only taking in half of your protein needs? I understand this site has a weight loss program, you might give that a shot. If not, this is what you can do. Try going for 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight. This will give you 130 grams, 520 calories. The rest of your calories divide between carbs and fats. This will lower your carb intake, and also gets your body accustomed to burning lots of fat. People are afraid of fat intake, don't be. It's the sugars you have to worry about.

Protein: 130 Grams, 520 calories.
Carbs: 123 Grams, 490 calories.
Fats: 54 Grams, 490 calories.

If you are weight training, you should up your protein. You don't need as much protein if your not lifting. For the thighs, that is the biggest problem for most of us women. Philia2 posted a great post on the womens forum. Try doing a search. I am in the process of trying to find something that works for me. I am low in bodyfat and fairly skinny but the majority of my fat is in the inner thigh. I am going to try a squat with my feet a little further than shoulder width apart and toes pointed outward. My trainer said that this should help, we'll see. I also like doing leg presses (you can see every muscle in your quads). Hope this helps.

I'm with you girls; darn thighs!!!
It's just a liiiiitttle bit of fat on the inner side..... Sumo squats (or wide feet squats) is a great exercise for the inner thighs BUT our main problem isn't the muscle it's the fat!
We'll get there. The answer is diet, cream and massage AND patience..... (and now where is Leslie when we need her?!! ;o)
