I dont understand why you should train a muscle area only once a week. For example on the workouts they give us they only have us training the chest once a week same thing with biceps and all the other body parts. Can someone clear this up for me I'm just wondering if its good or a bad thing.

Well the main reason why is that your muscles n do not grow larger and stronger by working them out more. In fact you only work them once a week to give them the time to rest and recover. That time is when the muscles actully get bigger and stronger. You can after you have been working out for a couple of years train them 2 times a week, but anymore than that and you risk overtraining, and that will hurt you, both as an increased risk for injury, and reduction in gains. Without a profile and some idea of what you want to get done I can not offer anymore advice. But keep asking away!
