Is the Creapure stamp an American thing? I have bought some Creatine from a nationwide fitness and gym store in England where I live and can't see any stamp. What does it look like?
The brand I use is from York muscle power and is an established form of Creatine Monophosphate that a lot of people use and was advised to buy by the fitness gurus.
Have I been misled or not?

I'm not sure about it being an American thing. Are the brands such as ProLab and Universal Nutrition available in your country?

creapure is a brand from SK labs, which is in germany. it is the cleanest and most analyzed creatine on the planet. only about 4 companies are authorized to sell it: universal, prolab, optimum, and kaizen are the ones i know off the top of my head. for more info on it, goto www.creapure.com.
