I am into my 6th week of the mass building program designed here at ft. I have noticed I am becoming sore the following day after lifting. Is this surprising? I have been lifting for years as well, or is this program just kickin my BUTT!
Thanks

I believe the program is actually stimulating your muscles now, more than ever! Keep up the good work!

I get sore after every workout. If you don't feel sore then you need to push out a few more reps or add some weight. Soreness means you worked the muscle into exhaustion and it will rebuild itself Bigger and Better!

I agree..

I've been training for many years, and train to the extent where I am sore after EVERY workout. This way I know that I trained the muscles effectively.

Everybody is different, however exercise soreness is usually a good sign!

Keep up the great work!

I read that just because your not sore it doesn't mean you didn't have a good workout. In fact I did shoulders yesterday and I blasted the heck out of them. And I'm not sore at all. But maybe it's cause I need to change it up.

I think the soreness can be a misleading baramoter. I wouldn't necessarily go adding additional exercises, weight, or reps to failure, to a workout that is producing results, just to get sore. I often get sore, but not always, about 50/50. However, my intensity is consistent. Diet, rest, supplements, hydration, and age (to name a few) can all influence this too.
If you are having success with your plan and seeing results, roll with it. My workout partner conversely, is always remarking about how sore he is. Everyone is different....

I have always gotten sore every time I do a leg workout, because my legs are my strong point, my favorite body part to train, and well, I push them harder. Lately though, I have been noticing that the rest of my body has been SLIGHTLY sore because I have been pushing myself very hard the last couple weeks.

Did someone actually say they enjoyed legs in here??? j/k
I still get sore sometimes. I need to work on keeping my intensity consistent.
