I was just wondering what some of the signs of overtraining are? I seem to be extremely tired lately. Usually, I pop out of bed in the morning and do my work-out but lately it has been impossible to wake up. In the evening I just want to sleep. I feel guilty if I don't exercise, but the last few days it has been more than hard to do it. Does this sound like I need a break? Will I lose any gains that I have made? Thanks for the help!

Sounds like your body requires rest! Everybody is different and signs of overtraining can vary. However, your body is trying to tell you something. Take a day or two off and get more sleep. Just FYI, most bodybuilders get between 7-10 hours of sleep per day. And if they feel tired, they'll take a day or two off (they just do limited light cardio).

How is your diet? Do you get enough carbs during the day and what about the post work out meal (it's a very important factor for fast recovering).
How many times weekly do you work out? Do you drink enough?
Lots of questions here to be able to answer you correctly, please tell us a little bit more.

Let's see. I work out 3 days a week. 10min aerobics and 50 - 60 min weights. I try to make my work outs very intense and because I am trying to lose fat, I wait about an hour after working out (which is first thing in the am)to eat. I watch my fat content in food and eat lots of whole grains and cereals (kashi and oatmeal). I eat lots of vegt and fruits during the day and eat popcorn (no butter)and drink lots of water. I have always been athletic and have always struggled with my weight. I am 5'8" and weigh 175 lbs, and am 45 years old. I had a fat ratio test and was told it was 19%. I have tried all the different exercises and found many years ago that wieght lifting was the best for me. I love it! I have long ago given up on losing weight as nothing and I mean nothing has ever worked. Instead I concentrate on eating and living healthy. I feel super great except for the fatigue. I was thinking that maybe I needed a break. But there is always that guilty feeling and the worry that you'll lose any gains that you have made. Sorry about the very long message.

Believe me...taking off for a week or two WON'T make you lose any gains you've made. You can, of course, continue with the aerobics.
One last comment, I noticed that you do aerobics on the same days as you weight train...correct? If so, you may want to move your cardio to another time of day, or on the days you're not lifting. And, increase the intensity and do 30-45 mins. instead of 10. You'll lose weight in no time flat.
Anyway, just a suggestion...

Hmmm I know that some people think that it's a good idea to wait to eat after am work out (because they think that it'll burn more fat) but it'll also make your recovering take longer. I have been losing fat for the last three months and I have always been eating right after my morning cardio. My suggestion to you is to try for some time NOT to wait to eat just after your work out. Try if this will give you more energy (since it's better for your body -what use does it have if you are too tired to train because you try to burn more fat after cardio?....)
The 10 mins you do before weight training sounds fine for me. Good warm up. But it's true that if you want to do more than that it's better to do it on another day (good for fat burning as well).
