i have started working out my quads the last couple of weeks and i have been doing 8 sets of squats and 4 sets of leg extensions. The weight is pretty heavy by the time i get to the extensions i am pretty weak. The problem is that my after doing this my first week i was very sore the next day, and then the second and third week i was hardley even sore. I have started taking lots of glutamine and i was wandering if that is why i am not sore. I know i am doing the exercises right. I am just afraid i am not benefiting. I guess this leaves one question do you have to get sore to get progress, if you do than why have i went from 12inch arms to 15 1/2 inch arms and my biceps have never been sore. Any advice i would really appreciate it Thanks!
I would say don't worry about it. With the glutamine your body is able to recover a lot faster which is indeed very good. If you keep seeing gains then you are simply a lucky ba*****!! (o:

To answer your question, you do not have to be sore to realize gains. However, you want to make sure that you are contracting at the top of the muscle exercise and for the most part feel your muscles "burn."
The glutamine aids in the recovery, as well as creatine (if you take this, too).
