Hello everyone and thanks for the information and support! I do cardio work 4 times a week for 45 minutes. I shoot for around 135-140 pulse rate, (220 - 40) x 75%. When I first started quite a while back I would really sweat during the session, but lately at the same heart rate I no longer sweat. I'm wondering if I should raise my intensity level by going for a higher rate or just stick with the 75%. It seems like I read somewhere that going to a certain intensity level causes the body to rely mostly on Oxygen for fuel instead of stored fat which is my target. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am not an expert, but you may want to try a new cardio workout if you are doinng the same cardio for each session. My personal trainer also recommends to take one day where I work 20 minutes at a really hard level to jump start my body. If your body is use to it, it feels no difference. I try to vary my cardio on a day to day basis. Hope this helps.

Stan, you are already over the fat target level which is not more than 55-65% of your max. It's also normal that the same intensity gets easier after a while. This is a very good sign of your heart becoming stronger and your body is now use to the cardio. What I will suggest you to do is to alternate your cardio work outs. 2-3 times a week you'll do slow cardio (as I said 55-65% -you should be able to speak normally and not really sweat a lot) for 45-60 mins and then interval training 2-3 times a week for 30-45 mins (where you make your heart rate work up to at least 85% -for ex: 10 mins warm up, 1 min very fast, 3 mins slow, 2 mins fast etc).
You'll be surprised to see all the benefits from this.
Good luck!
